A BRIEF HISTORY OF PALM COAST…

Located 60 miles south of Jacksonville, Palm Coast was originally designed by ITT Corporation, which owned 68,000 acres in Flagler County.

Flagler County is 18 miles long, 8 miles wide, and has almost 19 miles of ocean beaches. The ITT master plan created 48,000 home sites on about 42,000 of the original acres. The City of Palm Coast was incorporated on December 31, 1999.

The city was originally planned for more than 200,000 residents with theinfrastructure to support them. Our current population is just over 51,000.

Flagler County has beautiful beaches, outstanding fishing, Championship golf, and a fine appreciation for preserving the area’s natural beauty and abundance of wildlife.

Palm Coast is a planned unit development (PUD) and all residents of the city are assessed an annual fee of $35, paid monthly in the Palm Coast Community Service Corporation utility bill.

Each section of Palm Coast has specific Covenants & Restrictions.
For the most part, sections are easy to identify: the first letter of the street name indicates the section. For example, Rockwell is in the ‘R’ section.

Visit Flagler County, Check the Weather, Order a Visitors Guide, and find out everything you want to know.
